The Melbourne Renegades Academy is ready to roll for the upcoming T10 Melbourne Invitational, with a 15-player squad set to hit the CitiPower Centre next week.
Renegades lock in T10 Invitational squad
The Renegades Academy, presented by Liberty, are fixtured to play eight games across the 10-day tournament, taking on cross-town rivals Melbourne Stars as well as invitees Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers.
Some of Victoria's best, up-and-coming talent will be in action including a few familiar faces from the BBL|14 list including Harry Dixon, Oliver Peake and Xavier Crone as well as a host of names putting themselves up in lights across the Victorian Premier Cricket competition.
Renegades T20 High Performance Manager Wade Seccombe says the tournament, which will be streamed on Kayo and via Dream11 in India, provides greater exposure to short-form cricket.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our squad to test themselves in a high-pressure environment. The best way to develop as a cricketer is to be out there in the middle, making decisions and executing skills under the pump,” Seccombe said, who'll take the reins as coach.
“For those pushing for a Big Bash contract, this is a chance to put their hand up and show what they can do. It’s also another big step in the expansion of our program, giving players more exposure to competitive cricket."
The Renegades kick off in the invitational on Monday against the Thunder from 1pm--check out the full fixture here.
Entry into the CitiPower Centre is free.
