Melbourne Renegades skipper Sophie Molineux’s all-round brilliance in WBBL|10 have earned her the club's WBBL Player of the Season award.
Molineux caps off sensational year with top gong
Renegades members recognised Molineux’s impact in what was an historic campaign by voting her most deserving of the team’s top individual honour, awarded at Thursday night's Cricket Victoria State and W/BBL Awards in Melbourne.
Despite missing four games mid-season due to a knee injury, the 26-year-old remained a driving force behind the team’s title push, showcasing her experience and class across seven matches. She finished the season with 140 runs, 16 wickets, and two match-winning Player of the Match performances.
Her campaign was capped off in the ultimate way—leading the Renegades to their first WBBL title and securing the club’s second piece of silverware in its 15-year history. One of the club’s foundation players, Molineux has been part of the Renegades’ journey since WBBL|01, making this season’s championship victory even more special.
Molineux also celebrated a personal milestone, becoming the first female Renegade to reach 100 matches for the club.
The award marks Molineux’s third Player of the Season honour, having previously claimed the title in WBBL|04 and WBBL|08.
Runner-up was Milly Illingworth and third place was Hayley Matthews.
