Gades Watch: The cricket never sleeps!

A quick look around the grounds to see how your Gades are faring during the BBL and WBBL offseason.

Gades in green and gold

Georgia Wareham and Nicole Faltum and the rest of Australia's T20 squad has touched down in New Zealand ahead of their three-match series against the White Ferns.

It will be Faltum's maiden Aussie tour and comes off the back of her impressive debut season for the Gades in WBBL|10 and equally strong WNCL season captaining Victoria.

Wareham is fresh from a big Women's Premier League (WPL) campaign with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru where the damaging allrounder finished with 20 wickets and 234 runs for the tournament.

The New Zealand v Australia T20I series begins in Auckland on Friday from 12.45pm.

Back on home soil it was Faltum, Tess FlintoffGeorgia Prestwidge and Emma de Broughe who starred in Australia A's recent red ball - Green v Gold - intra-match in Canberra.

Flintoff (4/27) and Prestwidge (5/31) spearheaded their teams' attacks in the first innings while de Brough (84) and Faltum (62) did the job with the bat.

Faltum, Flintoff and Hayward are set to feature in Australia A's white and red ball series against England A later this month.

Gades leading the way in the domestic scene

Will Sutherland, Fergus O'Neill and Harry Dixon had some mixed fortunes across the white and red ball competitions with Victoria reaching the final of the Dean Jones Cup while just missing out, by the narrowest of margins, on the Marsh Shield final.

Sutherland, in his second season as captain, lead from the front. He finished the Shield season with 22 wickets while delivering on the big stage in the one-day final, making a valuable half-century with the bat before taking 3/67 to cap off a strong performance.

O’Neill has also been a standout, topping the wickets tally Shield with an outstanding 38 scalps. His ability to generate movement and bowl with precision has made him one of the most consistent performers in the competition, proving to be a key weapon in Victoria’s attack.

Dixon meanwhile made an eye-catching start to his first-class career for Victoria. The opener notched up two half-centuries in his four matches and showcased his aggressive stroke play in the Dean Jones Trophy against NSW last month where he blasted another fifty. Dixon has wasted no time making an impact, already clearing the ropes 12 times in his short but exciting career, form we're confident he'll bring in BBL|15.

Ella Hayward enjoyed a breakout WNCL season, delivering with both bat and ball. She made headlines early with a brilliant unbeaten 112 and continued her strong form throughout the season, finishing with 446 runs and two more half-centuries. Her off-spin proved just as effective, finishing the campaign with 21 wickets – the fifth-most in the competition – as she cemented herself as one of the most impactful all-rounders in the tournament.

In addition, Brendan Doggett has enjoyed a great season in South Australia’s pace attack with 22 wickets to his name. He was at his destructive best against Tasmania last month, ripping through the top order in the first innings to set the tone for a dominant performance. His ability to make early breakthroughs has been a key factor for South Australia this season.

IPL kicks off

The end of WPL campaign paves the way for the beginning of the men's IPL competition.

Gades fans will get to see Jake Fraser-McGurk and Adam Zampa in action when the IPL kicks off on Sunday.

Both Fraser-McGurk and Zampa have had busy schedules following the Big Bash summer.

Zampa headed straight into the International T20 League with the Sharjah Warriors, where he claimed six wickets from five appearances. He then joined Fraser-McGurk for international duties, featuring in the ICC Champions Trophy.

In other news...

Tim Seifert has been in blistering form at both domestic and international level.

He's produced back-to-back scores of 44 (29) and 45 (22) in the Blackcaps T20 series against Pakistan.

Before that he's lit up the domestic competition with stunning knocks for Northen Districts, including an unbeaten 109 from just 71 balls in Hamilton.

Meanwhile The Hundred's draft is complete with new Gade recruit Jason Behrendorff selected for the Oval Invincibles and Wareham returning to the Northern Superchargers.
