Melbourne Renegades bolster squad with Peake and Muyeye signings

The Melbourne Renegades have strengthened their roster for the remainder of BBL|14, securing the services of exciting talents Oliver Peake and Tawanda Muyeye.

Peake, a promising Australian batter, who was an integral part of the Aussies’ successful U/19 World Cup campaign, has showcased his potential with consistent performances in domestic cricket.

Part of the Victorian pathways program, the 20-year-old replaces Jon Wells who was unfortunately injured in the Gades win against Perth.

Muyeye, a dynamic batter originally from Zimbabwe and now representing the Oval Invincibles and Kent in England’s white ball competitions, arrives as international replacement player for Laurie Evans.

The 22-year-old is renowned for his explosive batting and athletic fielding, earning a reputation as one of the most exciting emerging players on the global stage.

Melbourne Renegades General Manager James Rosengarten said the signings offer versatility and as the club pushes for a finals berth.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Oliver and Tawanda to the Renegades family,” Rosengarten said. “Both players have demonstrated immense potential, and we’re confident they’ll make an impact during the business end of the season.

Peake and Muyeye have linked up with the squad already as the Renegades aim to solidify their place in the top four and push for a finals berth.
