SQUAD: Molineux ruled out, Bekker into squad

The Melbourne Renegades will be without captain Sophie Molineux for Thursday night's clash with Perth Scorchers.

As her team flew to Perth, Molineux remained in Melbourne to undergo treatment after experiencing knee soreness in the wake of the weekend's matches at CitiPower Centre.

Molineux will be replaced in the 13-player squad by Charis Bekker who signed with the Renegades as a local replacement player.

Bekker, a left-arm orthodox spin bowler, came into the extended Renegades WBBL|10 squad in place of Sara Kennedy who's unavailable due to a leg injury.

A graduate of the Western Australian pathways program, Bekker is two seasons into her WNCL career for her state while she's also appeared for Australia at the U19 T20 World Cup and spent time at the Melbourne Stars last year.

Hayley Matthews will take the captaincy duties while the Final XI will be confirmed at the toss.
