Renegades locked'n'loaded for BBL Draft

The Melbourne Renegades have drawn Pick #2 for this year's BBL Draft.

In unfortunate events, somehow, the Melbourne Stars have snagged the top pick (for the second year running) despite finishing just outside the finals in BBL|13.

They (quite literally) came from the Stars to nab Pick #1, with the Renegades then having the pick of the bunch after drawing Pick #2 in the Draft Lottery which set the all-important order for each of the eight clubs.

The BBL|14 Draft Lottery order is:

1)    Melbourne Star
2)    Melbourne Renegades
3)    Sydney Thunder
4)    Hobart Hurricanes
5)    Adelaide Strikers
6)    Brisbane Heat
7)    Perth Scorchers
8)    Sydney Sixers

The Lottery determines the order of selections in Rounds One, Two and Four of the Draft. Round Three is conducted in reverse order.

Clubs can bring in up to four overseas players in the Draft, inclusive of any pre-signed, multi-year international player who must be allocated to a Draft pick during the event and matched with the player's salary band.

The fourth player selected becomes the Club’s first overseas replacement player.

Dates and broadcast details for the Draft will be announced shortly.

The results follow those announced for the Weber WBBL|10 Draft yesterday where the Renegades received Picks #3, #11, #22 and #27.
