Victorian speedster Sara Kennedy comes into the 14-player squad, an injury replacement player for Ellie Falconer who will miss most of the Weber WBBL|09 season with a foot injury.Kennedy, considered among the most promising young cricketers in the country, will provide an added boost to coach Simon Helmot’s outfit which narrowly lost its season opener against the Brisbane Heat.Despite some strong starts by its international contingent in Tammy Beaumont (34 from 18), Hayley Matthews (20 from 16) and Harmanpreet Kaur (31 from 26), the Renegades lost wickets at crucial times to fall too far behind in Friday’s thrilling run chase.Facing 68 runs from 33 balls, Georgia Wareham (36 from 16) stepped up with some big hitting and took the game deep into the final over.
