Young gun Jake Fraser-McGurk has re-signed with the Melbourne Renegades for BBL|13.
Fraser-McGurk re-signs for BBL|13
The 21-year-old has committed to a one-year contract extension, which will take him into a sixth season with the Renegades.
Fraser-McGurk was initially signed as a replacement player late in BBL|08, before earning his first full contract in BBL|09 as a teenager.
He made his BBL debut in BBL|10 and has played 25 matches for the club – including six last season.
“I’m excited to re-sign with the Renegades and be part of the club again this season,” Fraser-McGurk said.
“I’ve got great relationships with the guys here, really enjoy being part of the group and want to contribute in any way I can to us being a successful team.
“Being able to lean on players like Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh and Nic Maddinson will only help me continue to improve my game, as I strive to be the best player I can be.”
An attacking right-handed batter, Fraser-McGurk has been used in various roles in the batting line-up, at the top and through the middle order.
He has also established himself as one of Australia’s most dynamic fielders – highlighted by taking one the best catches the competition has seen in BBL|11.
“We’re pleased to have Jake continuing his Big Bash journey with the Renegades,” Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said.
“Jake has already shown some promising signs at this level. We believe he can be an important player for us this year and into the future. Jake’s best cricket is very much ahead of him and we look forward to helping him reach his potential.”
BBL|13 Squad (so far): Nic Maddinson (c), Aaron Finch, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mackenzie Harvey, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson, Tom Rogers, Jon Wells, Will Sutherland, Adam Zampa
