Harmanpreet Kaur ruled out of WBBL|08

The reigning WBBL player of the tournament has withdrawn due to a back issue.

Kaur missed the Renegades’ opening two matches due to international commitments, after leading India in the Asia Cup, with English batter Eve Jones signing on as an overseas replacement player.

“Harmanpreet was fantastic for us last season and we were looking forward to having her as part of our squad again this year, but unfortunately she has been ruled out through injury,” Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said.

“Eve will stay on with our squad for at least the next couple of matches, as we work through the best strategy for our squad for the remainder of the tournament.”

The Renegades have a 1-1 record after their two matches in Mackay, against the Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat.

They will face the Heat and Strikers again over the next week in Adelaide - on Friday and Monday respectively - before returning to Victoria for matches for the first time in over 1000 days.

Melbourne Renegades memberships and tickets to all matches are now on sale. Tickets are priced at $10 for Adults and free for Under 18s.
