With the ball, Lea Tahuhu, Maitlan Brown and Molly Strano have been the ones turning the screws on their opposition.
But playing a vital role amongst all this is 19-year-old Josie Dooley.
Whether it’s standing behind the stumps or calmly guiding the team to victory with the bat, Dooley has played a critical role in the Renegades’ strong start to their campaign.
In fact, her ability to stay cool under pressure and remain unaffected by the situation has not gone unnoticed by her more senior teammates.
“We’re not surprised by it,” is the summation provided by Sophie Molineux.
“Externally she looks quite composed but internally I think she’s a gritty little bugger, Josie, so we’re happy to have her in red.
“It’s a peace of mind for us to see her walk out when we need 30 off five overs, which is a massive hats off to her because she’s only 19.”
Arriving from the Brisbane Heat after nine games in WBBL|04, Dooley has batted in each of the Renegades’ three games this season and is yet to be dismissed.
She could hold her head high following the loss to the Strikers in the opening match when she made 20 from 19 deliveries after coming to the crease at 5-55 in the 13th over.
A day later, she helped reverse the result by scoring the winning runs against the same opponents, a feat she achieved three days later when she notched a run-a-ball 17 in the win over the Scorchers.

While her exploits haven’t drawn the headlines just yet, a black eye sustained earlier in the week certainly has not gone unnoticed by her teammates.
“I think she missed one doing a keeping drill, so we’ve called her Ronda Rousey, Danny Green, everything under the sun,” laughed Molineux.
“That sums Dools up, I think.
“She’s a tough cricketer.”
